More Than a Summit: Veterans Day on Mount Kilimanjaro
On Veterans Day 2025, more than 20 U.S. veterans stood on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
It’s a moment we’ll never forget—not because of the altitude or the view (though both were incredible), but because of what the climb represented.
This expedition was done in partnership with Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB), a national community of veterans, service members, military families, and supporters. Team RWB is built on teamwork, shared values, and a common goal: helping veterans continue to find purpose, connection, and a sense of belonging beyond their military service.
At Embark, we believe adventure can be a force for good. That’s why we’re intentional about partnering with foundations and organizations that are doing meaningful work in the world. When adventure is paired with purpose, it becomes something bigger than a trip—it becomes a platform for growth, healing, and impact.
Helping these veterans reach the summit on Veterans Day wasn’t just an honor—it was a reflection of what we value most: community, challenge, and using adventure to serve something greater than ourselves.
We’re grateful to Team RWB, to every veteran who took on the climb, and to the support systems that made this journey possible.
