Embark is thrilled to announce not only a new trip to (for us) a new part of the world, but also a partnership with a best-selling hiking guidebook author.

Portland-based Paul Gerald has written five books about Portland and Oregon, the most famous being Portland’s #1 hiking guidebook, 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles of Portland. He has led numerous trips to Italy and other locations for the Mazamas, a Portland hiking and climbing club, and now he is part of the Embark family.

As for hiking in Italy, it combines culture, scenery, art, wonderful walks, and some of the best food you’ll ever have in your life. This is the Tuscany trip you’ve been dreaming about.

Hiking and Touring in Tuscany and Cinque Terre is scheduled for June 1 to 14, 2015, and it’s just the first of many trips we look forward to having with Paul.
