Cancellations, Changes and Refunds for Treks and Other Excursions

All cancellations must be submitted in writing.

Cancellation charges are based on the date we receive your written notification as follows:

  • 0–59 days prior to trip start date: No refund.

  • 60–90 days prior to trip start date: Refund of 25% of the total trip cost.

  • 91 days or more prior to trip start date: Loss of the $500 deposit; all other climb fees are refundable. Safari refunds outside the deposit are subject to individual lodge policies.

Embark highly recommends that you purchase trip cancellation insurance in case you need to cancel your trip. Be aware that some travel insurance companies require purchase within a specified period after paying a deposit (often 10 days), so please review the terms of your proposed coverage carefully.

If additional changes to the trip are made while on your trip — such as new hotels or additional services — you will be billed for those additional services within two weeks of your return.

Cancellations, Changes and Refunds for Wildlife Safaris

All cancellations must be submitted in writing.

Cancellation charges are based on the date we receive your written notification. Please note that our suppliers, including hotels and lodges, may impose additional non-refundable charges or penalties.

The following cancellation charges apply per person, per tour:

  • Up to 90 days prior to departure: 50% of the deposit, plus any non-refundable deposits or cancellation fees/penalties charged by lodges.

  • 89–65 days prior to departure: 25% of the total tour price, plus any non-refundable deposits or cancellation fees/penalties charged by lodges.

  • 64–31 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour price, plus any non-refundable deposits or cancellation fees/penalties charged by lodges.

  • 30 days prior to departure or less: 100% of the total tour price.

If you leave a tour in progress for any reason, no refund will be given for unused services.

All credits from canceled trips are non-transferable and the replacement trip must be completed within 1 year of the original cancellation date.


Changes

If you wish to change your tour itinerary after confirmation, please submit your request in writing by email or postal mail. Any modification of dates or alteration of itineraries may incur a change fee. Change fees vary depending on the type and scope of the change and may include additional costs imposed by our suppliers.
