Antarctica 2009!
11.23.2009
Mountaineer and all-around adventure addict Ryan Waters, who got his feet wet, so to speak, in the Himalayas, is trekking to–and perhaps across–the South Pole. He’s in good hands with Norwegian mountaineer Cecilie Skog, who is the only woman in the world who has climbed the highest mountain on every continent. She’s also reached both the North and South Poles unsupported on skis. It’s a good thing the two have so much experience between them, because their current mission includes skiing more than 1,000 miles to traverse the world’s least-hospitable continent: Antarctica.
