Bhutan Snow Leopards Captured … on Video

One of the reasons Embark is so enchanted with touring and trekking in Bhutan is that it’s a nearly unspoiled wildlife paradise. The latest evidence of this comes from the Bhutanese government and World Wildlife Fund, which this week released some of the 10,000 photos of snow leopards and other wildlife from hidden cameras in Wangchuck Centenntial Park.
Reuters has the details and more of the photos, and their video (sorry about the ad) tells us there are other animals thriving there, as well:
Bhutan’s reverence for the environment and things mystical is one reason why we love going there. For example, our “Yeti Trail” Merak and Sakteng Trek visits an area set aside, in part, because it’s thought to be good habitat for the Yeti. How can you not love a country which is supporting habitat for rare and magical wildlife, both known and unknown?
