01.31.2014
In 2013, Embark Exploration Company announced a new partnership with Team Fox, the grassroots fundraising program at the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Each year more than 1,600 Team Fox members worldwide turn their passions and interests into unique fundraising events and athletic feats.
This month, Embark helped some Team Fox athletes climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, and here is their summit photo:
Congratulations to this hearty crew!
Mt. Kilimanjaro is 19,341 feet above sea level — the highest free-standing mountain in the world, and one of Embark’s most popular, least technical mountain climbs in the world. Each participant received a spot on the trip to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro by committing to raising $10,000 for Parkinson’s research.
Embark Exploration Company is an adventure travel company based in Portland, Ore., that offers once-in-a-lifetime trips for those who want to explore the most remote corners of the planet while giving back to local communities that make these destinations world-class. The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson’s today.
